2010 CrosstoberFest 10/30 & 10/31

lroquet's picture

Looking forward to having the Boise crowd up to support our event. We appreciate all the help in supporting and growing Cross in our State and Valley. Help us make this the best year ever! We are also heading into our second year for our Fall Cross Series that has three venues and runs every Sunday from 10/17 through 12/5; see our Road & Dirt Facebook page for more details as we have a couple of Sunday's off for holidays. If you have any questions please post them to our FB. Also, checkout the Power House FB page as we are running beer specials all month for Octoberfest if you are in the area.

Can someone please post these event dates to your calendar? I tried to add but do not have the rights. Thanks and good Crossing. Lee

The course map and all the details can be viewed at the link below. Come rain or shine - Worried about the cold? Don't be, warm fires and huge indoor venue in case of cooler weather. Great time to breakout the winter gear to see what you are missing. This is going to be the best CrosstoberFest yet..

Thanks

everything already said, and agreed upon. Would love to see the event grow, it's something we look forward to each year. Hats off to the entire community as well. Would love to know how to get a hold of some of the pictures snapped with all those monster lenses!

Cameras!

I know Arn. Every time I managed to pick my head up and at about every turn there was a camera with a lens like a bazooka pointing at me.

Looked like a great event. I'm particularly excited to see Stearno riding for the Kansas Jayhawks!!!!!

Crosstoberfest

Ya gotta love Crosstoberfest. Billy upted the ante and created an even harder course for States. Ya gotta love that venue. The Ks Jayhawk jersey had to be pulled out of the closet sometime so there ya have it. Graduated in '85. By the way, just to give everyone another cross race to suffer in. Fuller and I are headed down to Ketchum this Sunday (7th) for Billy's Elkhorn course. We were told it is challenging with lots of elevation gains. Pass it on to all. You can be down and back by 2:30pm. Race sign up and start is approx 10:00am and the race is a single group for 40 minutes + or -. On a last note, I think we should have Paul McKenna drug tested or better yet, maybe we should be buying what he is. HaHa!!!!!

Stearno

The fast Stuff

I'll let anybody that buys a new cross bike at Meridian Cycles beat me. Remember you got one from me last year and you kept beating me. I can't let guys on year old bikes beat me, how good would that be for business?

Many thanks to everyone up in Sun Valley for a great racing weekend. The community is very welcoming and the venue is great. It would be nice to see official results so that I would know officially of far I finished in front of Charles.

Crosstoberfest Thoughts

What a great weekend of racing! Thanks for an excellent course and a great venue. Thanks to all the volunteers, organizers and racers.

Last year's Crosstoberfest was my first chance to watch a cyclocross race. Being that this was my first year as a racer I found the course very fun, challenging and exhausting. I was also pleased to see that the course this year was a better balance between roadie/mtb skills. The weather made for extra fun. The lodge is a great place for family and friends to hang out while racers are warming up and scouting the course.

The only part that was disappointing is that last year the races were over early enough to be able to eat and have a beer while we waited for results, door prizes and awards. By having the biggest field of the day go last you have the largest amount of people not drinking/eating or cheering until their race is done at nearly 4pm which was right when the kitchen closed - so sorry, no soup for you! Consequently, it seemed like everyone left as soon as the race was done instead of hanging out and building community. Last year it was fun to grab a beer/brat after the Cat 4 race and watch the big boys (cat1/2/3) show us how it is done. I don't think the Cat 4 race has the same attraction for the Cat 1/2/3 racers to stick around and watch. Maybe changing up the order would allow for more beer/food sales for the venue and more community for the racers. Just my thoughts as a new guy. Thanks again for the fun weekend!

More Crosstober thoughts...

Second most of those thoughts. Great course and great fun! However, I too feel like the 4's/45+ should have raced before the A flight. Seems to keep more people around. Also, seems like there should have been at least a brief awards ceremony each day. Lastly, results took forever last year- will they be posted soon.
