Teton Brewing's Octoberfest Cyclocross Race

FYI: Sounds like a fun new race! Hello, I wanted to let the guys know that we are putting on a cyclocross race September 20th in Victor, Idaho (next to Jackson, Wyoming), and we'd love to get on the Idaho race calender. The race is in conjunction with Grand Teton Brewing's Octoberfest which is located on the course. The course is currently being built with the cities help. 1.2 mile laps, 2 run-ups, 3 banked turns, a whoopty-do section, barriers, bike path... Check out some recent photos of the course at www.moosecross.com We are still working out some of the details. We will be looking at running a Sunday race as well, or possibly a Friday night under the lights race. These are to be determined, but the 20th is 100% on, and we are super psyched. Thanks and we hope to see you on the 20th! Dave moosecross.com (307)690-4373

Nice!
That sounds like it will be a fun course.
Nice!
Those guys look like they mean business with the heavy machinery etc... I agree, should be an awesome course when they're done and could be worth the trip!
Victor Race
Yeah, if we got a group going up I might be more tempted to hitch along with everyone.
Victor
Those of us doing Ride Idaho will cruise right through Victor next week. We should find out where it is located and have ourselves a look-see that day.
Look-see
That sounds like a good idea. We can call Dave when we get up there.
Opps!
Well Dave,
We were all pretty tired with the ride into Driggs, the 400 feet of elevation gain = about 4500 ft of climbing during our 88 miles or whatever it was that day. Anyway, we spaced it and didn't realize it until several days later. Sorry! The course does look cool, I think some of us are still hoping to make it up there.
Cross Tour
Hey guys,
Yes, please call me when you come through. Either myself or another organizer can give you guys a tour. The course is in pioneer park which is less then 300 meters off of the Ride Idaho route. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=104863965405748747564.00045427...
We had a course work day today where rolled and raked all the straight aways. The course is coming along. The features are starting to ride well. I hope you all can make it.
Dave
The course
The course looks like it is coming together. I am very excited to be able to head out to that race.
Whoa, is this really just a month away?
I need to start riding 'cross. Wait -- I need to get a 'cross bike first! Anyway, I'd like to head over there and try out the sweet new course!
Out of Town
Just realized I'll be gone on vacation. Sorry to miss this one though as it definitely looks worth the drive.
Game on
On-line registration went live this weekend. I also posted directions to the race and a course map on the web-site (www.moosecross.com). Pint glasses with the Moosecross logo (racers get one when they sign up) will arrive next week. This is going to be a super cool event.
Who's going?
I have made my reservations at the Cowboy Roadhouse Lodge in Victor. Call instead of booking on line and they give you the racer discount. Not a lot, but what the heck.
Just curious who from the Boise area might be going?
It would be great to see some familiar faces and a nice warm up for the start of the Eagle Island series. Nothing gets you in race shape like racing.
Hope to see you there.
Moosecross
Alright, I'm in!
Anyone else heading that way??

Call-ups based on race registration date
Sign up NOW for the best possible start position. We will base the call-ups for each race on your registration date so the sooner you sign up, the better your start position will be. Don't get stuck in the last row and miss the hole shot by signing up the day of the race.
Sunday Race
I know a while back there was talk of a Saturday and Sunday race, what are the chances of having a race on sunday as well?? Sure would make it easier to make the trip east.
JT
The trip will be worth it
Hey JT,
Because this is our first year we are only planing an "official" race Saturday. We are putting A LOT of energy into Saturday......did I mention we just ordered 100 moosecross cowbells for spectators and racers?
What will set our race apart is that our course is permanent. i.e. the next day it does not revert back to a grass field. All the features stay. Heck, we are putting so much love into this course that I'd be psyched if people want to have an informal race Sunday.
Also don't forget the Tetons are incredible in the Fall

There are a lot of other Sunday options like Grand Targhee road ride, or nice Mtb single track. Also Jackson is right over the pass. And lastly don't forget about the Octoberfest!
Did I mention this is an even not to be missed?
Knee trouble
I am still considering going but with all the knee issues the past few weeks I am holding off making a decision. I would still like to go for the fun of it (and my fitness needs major help), just have to see how it all plays out.
