Short Track Training at the Velopark
See message below. This is a great course and has a feel of "cross" to it. Great way to prep for the upcoming season. Mike K. Starting this Thursday evening at the Velopark and continuing through the summer every Thursday evening, there will be a short track group ride. The ride will start at 7:00 PM sharp lasting for approximately 35 minutes. Everyone is welcome and the more the merrier. If you show up late, jump in. The course is in the area of and travels around the future velodrome (the current sand pit). The velopark will be taking donations ($2-$5) on a voluntary basis at the time of the ride. The money will be used for, among other things, additional short track trail construction, a large timing clock, and miscellaneous supplies. It would be great to get good numbers at this weekly ride so incorporate this into your training program and spread the word. I think this email is going to at least one person from each major bike club in the area. Please pass this along to your clubs and bike shops. Suggestions are welcome and should be directed to me. training rides...
So I assume these are a "race pace" type group ride or no? Being only 35mins that was my guess anyway...
re: training rides
Yeah I think you will feel the pain afterwards. Big bonus is you can ride the IVCP trails before, after or both.
How has the turn out been?
Our club tries to do a group Thursday night ride, maybe we can incorporate a trail ride at the velo park with a short intense effort for those interested. What has the turn out been like so far? By the way, I am already Jones'n for cross. I just got some of my cross wheels trued, Have been shopping for the perfect tires for my arsenal (I can't tell what I have decided on yet, it's top secret), and looking for races I want to do. Giddy Up!
